Felt Acoustic Elements – A Practical Solution for Noise Reduction and Acoustic Improvement
Felt sound-absorbing panels are the perfect choice for anyone looking to reduce noise while enhancing room acoustics in a stylish and effective way. Made from high-density, recycled materials, these panels are both eco-friendly and highly efficient at absorbing sound, making them ideal for modern interior spaces that demand both performance and sustainability.
What is a felt sound-absorbing panel and what is it used for?
A felt sound-absorbing panel is an indoor acoustic element made from technical felt. Its purpose is to reduce sound reflections inside a room. It does not provide soundproofing against external noise. Instead, it improves speech clarity and overall acoustic comfort by reducing echo and reverberation.
These panels are quick and easy to install and can be combined with acoustic foam or other absorbing materials for enhanced performance.

Frequently asked questions about felt sound-absorbing panels
Do they reduce noise from neighbors?
They reduce echo inside the room but do not provide full soundproofing.
What are Bilnora panels made of?
They are made from recycled PET material and comply with international standards.
How much surface area should be covered?
Covering around 20% of the surface already provides noticeable improvement. The best results are usually achieved between 30 and 40%.
Are custom sizes available?
Yes, custom sizes can be ordered, and the panels can also be easily cut to size at home.
How can they be cleaned?
They can be cleaned easily with a vacuum cleaner or a damp cloth.
What thickness options are available?
From 0.9 mm up to 25 mm, depending on acoustic needs.
Where are they not recommended?
They are not suitable for outdoor use or permanently high-humidity environments.
Manufacturing, quality, delivery, and warranty
The Bilnora felt sound-absorbing panels are made of flame-retardant, recycled PET felt. They are formaldehyde-free, baby-safe, and comply with the requirements of OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. The products are available from stock, with fast delivery and a quality guarantee.
How is the Bilnora felt sound-absorbing panel different from wooden slat panels or broadband panels?
Felt sound-absorbing panels are primarily effective at reducing mid and high frequencies (600 Hz–5000 Hz) that interfere with speech intelligibility. Wooden slat panels operate in a similar frequency range, but the wooden elements add a diffusion effect alongside sound absorption. Compared to felt panels, they absorb fewer high frequencies and more low frequencies. Broadband panels, unlike the other two, work across a much wider frequency range (40 Hz–20,000 Hz). Due to their technical nature and size, they are mainly recommended for studios and cinemas.
