What can diffusers do?

Accumulation of bass sounds results in serious acoustic problems. Interference, standing waves, rattling echoes may occur. The use of bass-absorbing membranes eliminates this problem. But if we focus solely on bass sound absorption, we can fall into the mistake of over-attenuation. As a result, the sound quality deteriorates. In addition to absorbing bass sounds, the diffusers scatter the sounds coming to their surface in the form of smaller energy beams, making the sound much clearer and smoother, eliminating reverberation. Diffusers have an irregular surface and different depths, thus reflecting sounds at different angles.

Proper placement and ideal quantity of diffusers

It is advisable to place the diffusers at ear level. The larger the room, the more diffusers you will need. Of course, this does not mean that all free surfaces are covered with diffusers! The main reflection points need to be found and covered with diffuser panels. The location of these points can be determined by acoustic measurement. Or measure with a mirror. Perfect Acoustic not only performs acoustic measurements on site, it is also possible to measure online, in this case we can get a result with 95% accuracy! We do not recommend using cheap but useless objects as diffusers or sound absorbers! We are referring primarily to styrofoam, plastic sponge materials and egg boxes, which are not suitable for these functions at all.

Major reflection points are usually found behind the speakers, on the ceiling, between the speaker and the listener, in the tilted attic rooms, and behind the listener position.

Why is optimal acoustics important?

If the acoustics of a room are unfavorable, the experience of audio, music or film deteriorates significantly. Prolonged “noise exposure” can have very serious health-damaging effects, both mentally and physically. Sounds certainly have power – so-called sound weapons have become more common in recent years! So the acoustic treatment of the rooms should not be taken lightly! Since most aspects are not taken into account in the design of most buildings, we usually have to deal with the improvement of surround sound in retrospect. Diffusers, deep sound absorbers..etc. in its production we strive to create the most perfect acoustics possible.

Echo Problems

Large, flat wall surfaces are unable to absorb deep sounds. They reflect them, causing sounds to bounce back and forth between the walls. The rattling echoes that result are very disturbing and unpleasant. Bass sound-absorbing elements on the walls and corners help to solve this problem, but for even sound distribution, diffuser panels are also necessary. These diffusers radiate sound energy back into the space, breaking it down into smaller parts, thereby eliminating reverberation.

There are several types of reflective surfaces. Reflective, smooth, flat, and hard surfaces (like tiles, marble, or glass) reflect sound but do not absorb it. In contrast, diffusers scatter sounds over most of the room due to their irregular surface.

Our diffusers are made of real wood. Due to the natural properties and structure of the wood material (knots, lumps, staining from leaking resin), the pickling/painting may not be even, and the shades may vary across the entire surface of the diffuser. Therefore, we cannot accept complaints regarding these natural variations.
