The properties of our Premium bass sound dampening panels with double wood membranes:

  • The panel is also available with the latest Elitexa extra dense 200kg/m³ acoustic foam. In this case, the sound absorption below 400Hz is nearly doubled. As a result, the product’s weight almost doubles! The denser the material, the more low-frequency sound it can absorb.
  • We use a sprung wood structure to make our double-wood soundproofing membranes.
  • The bass absorption and insulation capacity can be accurately calculated using a membrane structure created by precise mathematical calculations.
  • Rigidity of the absorbing panels is provided by a hard 2cm thick laminated wooden frame.
We use the best sound-insulating acoustic 90kg / m3 cotton for the internal sound absorber.
  • You can also order it with extra dense 80kg/m3 Elitexa acoustic foam (additional cost)
  • For ceiling installation, we do not recommend the use of sponge lining (it will not be aesthetically pleasing)
  • Sound insulation is essential to attenuate the right amount of noise.
  • Each wood soundproofing membrane panel is covered with dense acoustic silk. This makes it look the same as broadband panels.
  • This way, there will be no problem with the process of design and implementation.

Size: 104x64x13cm  Weight: 10kg – 14kg

Size: 130x64x11cm  Weight: 13kg – 17kg

We do not use acoustic foam or sponges. Acoustic foam is unsuitable for absorbing bass! The general foam, which is 20-30kg/m3 in density, cannot absorb deep sounds. In our range, we offer the extra high-density 80kg/m3 Elitexa acoustic foam, which due to its extra high density can also absorb deep sounds.

Stacking the Panels

You can join two or even three panels together to create an acoustic wall. The rail system allows them to be securely joined without falling apart. Simply fit the rails together and slide them into place. The rails are available in several colors. It is advisable to request the bottom panel with feet; in this case, the acoustic wall will not fall over.

It is recommended to use these panels in areas where drilling into the wall is not possible, such as:

  • Sub-let: Where drilling into the wall is not possible.

  • Office: Where tables are separated by an acoustic wall.

  • Studio: Behind high speakers, or as a movable wall around singers or between musicians.

In addition to the general size, our wood membranes can also be ordered in custom sizes!

They can be designed as hidden elements, either built into furniture or placed on shelves.

Cleaning Sound-Absorbing Panels:
Wipe our sound-absorbing panels with a damp cloth. The color of the silk will not fade over time.

When choosing white or off-white colors, it is important to consider the potential for dust accumulation. Over time, these colors may discolor. Therefore, it is recommended to choose a darker color. Colors like 33 or 55 can be kept clean for a long time without staining the panel.

Foldable wooden feet are also available upon request.

Available with an 8 mm wooden frame in natural pine color.

Why Do We Need Wood Membrane Sound Absorbers?

In smaller rooms, excessive bass often ruins the music experience.

These rooms can include:

  • Studio

  • Home cinema

  • Stereo room

  • Theatre

  • Living room

Methods of Noise Reduction:

When there has been no specific acoustic design or proper implementation during construction, structural and acoustic issues often arise due to the room size. In this case, only subsequent acoustic design and treatment can address the problem. Correcting these issues cannot be achieved without sound absorbers. Most problems in these spaces are due to the excessive accumulation of deep sounds. Why focus on deep sounds? Because treble is much easier to handle, even with simple solutions.

  1. with broadband acoustic panel
  2. diffuser with the front element
  3. or with acoustic diffusers
How can wood membranes help?

As we know we can talk about deep sounds below 200-300Hz. These frequencies are already much harder to handle than treble, but for the Perfect Acoustic’s premium sound-absorbing panels is not a challenge!

High tones can be absorbed by almost all furniture, soft fabrics, sofas, chairs, curtains and other accessories in the room. This ticks the sound balance towards the deep tones. Therefore, if we use a double wood soundproofing membrane, we only reach the deeper ranges, thus balancing the whole range of the sound. Reflected tones create an echo in rooms with unfavourable acoustics.

Double Wood Soundproofing Membranes
Double wood soundproofing membranes effectively dampen unwanted deep frequencies, starting from 30Hz to 200Hz.

For ideal acoustics, it is essential to eliminate echo. Soundproofing panels provide perfect acoustics due to their absorption and insulation properties. Instead of opting for a “DIY” solution, we recommend purchasing absorbing panels with effective absorption and insulation capabilities. These professionally designed panels are specifically created to improve acoustics, offering both echo cancellation and insulation—this is the primary task in enhancing sound quality.

The figure below shows the sound absorption properties of a 104x64x13 cm double wood membrane acoustic element.

Placement of Bass Sound-Absorbing Membranes:

Deep sounds accumulate along the walls in every room, due to the air pressure generated by the speakers. Because of the sound pressure along the walls, most of the bass tends to shift toward the corners. Therefore, we begin by attenuating deep sounds in the corners. When the corners are filled or there is not enough space to place the proper amount of corner soundproofing bass traps, we start treating the sidewalls with membranes.

If possible, hang the absorbing panels at least 10 cm away from the walls. This is because deep sounds accumulate at the walls, condense, and cannot be absorbed as efficiently in this position. By placing the panels about 10 cm away from the wall, we can achieve double the absorption efficiency for frequencies below 200Hz.

Avoid placing the panels at the primary reflection point. Due to the hard surface, the panels will not be able to absorb or scatter higher frequencies effectively. Instead, broadband or diffuser panels should be placed there, possibly acoustic diffusers, to clear the surround sound. This prevents multiple phase issues caused by delayed sound reflections.

If we install the products with this placement strategy, we will hear much clearer, more detailed, and dynamic sound, largely due to the proper positioning of the membranes.

Hooking Up Panels:
Add to panel:

Hooks must be ordered separately. 4 hooks per set. In this case we drill 4 sides of the panel.

This is when the question arises: Why not?

Because there are as many types of walls as there are rooms. Different types of walls require distinct methods for mounting. This also largely depends on the type of mounting system. If you want to mount it on a plasterboard wall, it is advisable to use a drywall screw:

panel mounting

For plain concrete or brick walls, you will need an 8mm dowel and a hook as long as possible.

If the dowel and screw are already in the wall, you simply need to hang the panel. No specialist is required!

Using Acoustic Ceiling Panels:
Membranes can also be used as ceiling acoustic panels.

There are many situations where you cannot place a sufficient number of sound-absorbing panels on the walls. In this case, the ceiling space becomes very useful. A soundproofing panel mounted on the ceiling is beneficial because of the large surface area. Since this area is typically empty, a significant amount of deep sound is collected, not to mention the standing waves that form between the walls and the floor.

We can greatly reduce these reflections, deep sounds, and standing waves with ceiling sound absorbers. As with wall placement, it’s important to ensure that a broadband or diffuser front panel or an acoustic diffuser is placed at the primary reflection points, if possible. The hard, flat surface of the ceiling reflects high frequencies, so it’s better to place the membranes directly above or in front of the listening area.

If done successfully, customer reviews indicate that even with just two acoustic elements, there can be up to a 30% improvement in sound quality.

Packaging robust vol, though not cheap shipping. But the bass trap membrane is very nice looking.Thank you.

  2. Matti Lehtonen

Just got one these and after some measurements found its place among my other elements.
Even this one eases my problems around 40Hz – 60 Hz in my small 3.4 x 4.5 meters room. I will buy another in near future
I think. I use Sonarworks but it cannot brake laws of physics
    as we know…
I have other units by Gik and selfmade but none membrane ones until now even if I know something about the theory, too lazy to build or too expencive to buy.
    But here!

  6. Javier

I ordered an online acoustic measurement from the website and they recommended this product. However, when it was delivered, the courier company must have dropped another heavy package on it, because the package, and unfortunately the product, arrived damaged. Unfortunately, I have had this happen to me in the past, so I knew the procedure, I immediately raised a complaint with the courier in his presence. The team at Perfect Acoustic were very helpful, I sent the product back to them, they repaired it and it arrived to me safe and sound the second time.
The product and customer service is excellent, but the courier service is not very thorough, so I give it only 4 stars.
